Lumenition Optronic Ignition is an electronic ignition conversion to replace existing contact breaker points and condenser. The advantage of the Lumenition system is that it contains no wearing parts, requires no adjustment or
maintenance during service and once ignition timing is set it will remain permanently in tune.
The instant benefits of the Standard Optronic electronic ignition are:
- No contact breakers or condensers;
- Easier starting and higher revving engines;
- Faster, smoother acceleration;
- Reduced exhaust emissions;
- Better fuel economy;
- Fixed dwell giving higher performance from existing coil under all conditions;
The Standard Optronic system is ideal for unmodified cars. It can be used with the original fitment unballasted coil (i.e. primary resistance of ~3 ohms), but the Lumenition MegaSpark 6 coil
SV041
is recommended for best performance. It is
not suitable for use with a replacement dry coil such as
SV009 or a low resistance coil from another electronic ignition system.
The power module can be mounted on the outside of the louvered divider panel under the engine lid right hand side cover. However, if preferred, mounting bracket
