Inertia switch for controlling electric fuel pumps
EN333,
EN334
and
EN120.
This is a resettable crash sensor to directly shut off the fuel pump upon vehicle impact, reducing the risk of fire in post-crash situations.
Power is typically supplied to the
Common C terminal of the internal change-over switch and the
Normally Closed NC terminal then feeds the fuel pump or a separate relay. In the event of a crash, the switch changes and the fuel pump will stop, while the
Normally Open NO terminal can now operate a warning light if required. For a compatible 3-pin plug connector, see
EE318.
- Responsive to 360° impact;
- Reduces the risk of fire following a crash;
- Resettable by pressing switch through rubber cover;
- Able to turn on a warning light or other indicator when triggered;
- Capable of carrying fuel pump load up to 10 amps;
Important: The switch must be mounted on a rigid vertical panel such that it is not inadvertently triggered by high vibration levels or through normal
operation of vehicle over bumpy roads etc. The rubber cover must face upwards and in a location where it is easily accessible for resetting.
