X1/9 Lumenition Fitting Kit - Marelli S155

Lumenition fitting kit for Marelli S155 distributors. For use with Standard SV040 and Performance SV042 Optronic ignition systems. Kit contains optical chopper, base plate and fixings.

Important: Unlike other Lumenition fitting kits, the Marelli 155 kit is not a straight replacement of the points with the new pickup and chopper assembly. You will need to either:

1. Drill out the rivet for the existing points pivot pin from the base plate as this fouls the pickup fitting – this is the quickest method, but would mean you couldn’t easily revert to conventional points if ever needed.
2. Make a new base plate – this is the recommended approach. The plate doesn’t have to be steel like the original as it only needs to hold the new pickup in place, so 2mm thick aluminium is fine and can be easily cut and shaped by hand. Marelli S155 distributor:
This originally used a brown colour cap and has two fixing screws in the flange with either side or top entry ignition leads. The points assembly SV035 is a two piece unit and the gap is adjusted internally by two mounting screws. Check the model number on the outside of the distributor body if you're not sure.
